I Shot An Arrow Into The Air

Author Unknown

I shot an arrow into the air,
It fell to earth, I knew not where.
I breathed a song into the air,
It fell to earth, I knew not where.

Long, long afterward in an oak,
I found the arrow still unbroke,
And the song from beginning to end,
I found again in the heart of a friend.

(I came across this little poem recently in a Facebook Friend’s Notes.
It has been many years since I heard this and it still stirs me.)
