Non-scientific Proof that the Flat Earth Model is Incorrect
The belief that the earth is flat, with all the objects in the heavens revolving around it, has been trending at an astonishing rate in the last few years. This Flat Earth hypothesis, also known as the Geocentric Earth Model hypothesis, claims to be more Biblically aligned than the Globe Earth Heliocentric Model (i.e., the Earth and other planets of our Solar System actually revolve around the Sun), and thus boasts that it alone properly portrays true Divine design. In so doing, all who subscribe to the Globe Earth Model are consequently consigned to the evolutionary side of the theological tug-of-war between Biblical Creationism and the Theory of Evolution, as far as the Flat Earth proponents are concerned.
There is, however, a monumental discrepancy between the spiritual symbolism and implications of the Flat Earth Model and what the Scripture actually teaches concerning the relationship between God and Man as well as the influences of Good and Evil on Mankind. In the Cosmic Model portrayed in Scripture, the Sun rules the Earth by Day, while the Moon rules the Earth by Night.
And God made two great lights; the greater light (i.e., the Sun) to rule the day, and the lesser light (i.e., the Moon) to rule the night: he made the stars also. –Genesis 1:16
We know that Satanic forces are “the rulers of the darkness of this world,” according to Ephesians 6:12, while God Himself is “the Sun of Righteousness” of Malachi 4:2, “the Day Star” of 2 Peter 1:19, and “the Bright and Morning Star” of Revelation 22:16 – “the most high God [who] rules in the kingdom of men” (Daniel 5:21). Furthermore, it is clear from the Scripture that the Earth represents Man, the Adamic race, for “the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground” according to Genesis 2:7.
Thus, in the language of symbols, the Flat Earth Model puts MAN at the CENTER of existence, with everything spiritual or heavenly revolving around MAN. Therefore, the Geocentric Model spiritually represents an Ego-centric world, where everything centers around SELF, the MAN who reigns supreme in his finite world of self-centered hedonistic secular humanism. Furthermore, GOD, the Greater Light representing the ultimate force for GOOD, revolves around MAN–the Earth that is the Center of this hypothetical model.
By contrast, on the other hand, the Globe Earth Model, in the language of symbols, puts GOD at the CENTER of existence, with everything natural or earthly revolving around GOD. Thus, the Heliocentric Model spiritually represents a God-centric existence, where everything centers around GOD, the ONE who reigns supreme in his Creation. Furthermore, MAN’s existence centers around and completely depends upon GOD–the absolute focal point of all Creation.
Theologically, the Flat Earth Geocentric Model hypothesis is an egregious affront to the Creator of the Heaven and the Earth, because it subliminally promotes and serves the created Man more than the God who created him.
For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse…. Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, Who is blessed forever. Amen. –Romans 1:20, 25
