3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once [for all] delivered unto the saints.
4 For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.
8 Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh,
[they hate pastors and pastoral authority]
and speak evil of dignities.
[they vilify spiritual leadership]
10 But these speak evil of those things which they know not:
[they mock and deride spiritual concepts about which they are woefully ignorant]
but what they know naturally, as brute beasts, in those things they corrupt themselves.
[like dumb animals with only a carnal understanding of spiritual concepts they spiritually destroy themselves]
11 Woe unto them! for they have gone in the way of Cain,
[because they are faithless their offering is rejected by God and they then assassinate the character of good godly and faithful saints]
and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward,
[they will say or do anything in order to further their own selfish cause and interests]
and perished in the gainsaying of Core.
[they are not afraid to stand up against divinely appointed leadership and influence others to do the same]
12 These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you,
[they are ugly spiritual blemishes and deformities when they come to visit your church services]
feeding themselves without fear:
[ignoring what is said from the anointed pulpit they fearlessly pastor themselves]
clouds they are without water, carried about of winds;
[they are spiritually dry windbags–though they seem promising they pitifully fail to ever deliver anything spiritually substantial because they are being driven by evil seducing spirits and doctrines of demons]
trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;
[they are spiritually barren because they are profoundly spiritually dead]
13 Raging waves of the sea, foaming out their own shame;
[their spiritual impotence and ignorance angers them and they constantly spew vile and evil words from their mouth]
wandering stars, to whom is reserved the blackness of darkness for ever.
[they are pseudo-spiritual leaders who have no spiritual, ethical or moral compass and who are doctrinally void, and therefore they drift aimlessly, perpetually in a spiritual vacuum of gross spiritual darkness, never coming to the Light of the Truth]
16 These are murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts;
[they constantly whine about everything and do whatever they please]
and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men’s persons in admiration because of advantage.
[they use big words they don’t even fully understand because they are trying to impress people and draw away disciples after themselves]
17 But, beloved, remember ye the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;
18 How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.
[they live according to their own unholy, carnal and worldly desires]
19 These be they who separate themselves,
[they quit attending our Spirit-filled and Spirit-led church services]
[they are full of their flesh and carnal appetites]
having not the Spirit.
[they do not have the Holy Ghost and are therefore not led by the Spirit of God, neither do they belong to Christ!]
